This restaurant was a pleasant surprise! I started with the Burlesque cocktail and loved the delicious fig puree. My husband had a pear based cocktail that was equally as good. By far, STAR of my night, was the roasted tomatoes appetizer and could have had 2 orders of that as my meal. However, I ordered the short ribs and they were tender and fall-apart yummy. Ended the night with a creamy butterscotch pudding that was not overly sweet or too sugary. I do not eat at chain restaurants and appreciate the use of whole ingredients: I saw fresh juice being squeezed for drinks, careful attention to plating and could easily tell that no processed or inferior products were used in the entrees. Kudos to you Fat Cat!! I can't say that I would ever return to Shreveport but you certainly added a silver lining!

Well, where do I begin? The crispy brussels sprouts were amazing. And the Wagyu Burger.... The best burger I've had in my entire life? Be sure to sub truffle fries, and to ask for MAX!

Fat Calf Brasserie never fails to impress. The ambiance, service, and cuisine are worth the trip. This was our second time dining there, and each dish was beautifully plated and just as delicious as the first time. My husband and I shamed ourselves since we don't get to Shreveport often, and so we shared the escargot and the duo of cheeses appetizers. We have had escargot at a number of restaurants, but Fat Calf's was by far superior. They were tender, and the sauce under the puff pastry was garlicky and not overly rich. The duo of cheeses, on the other hand, was decadent. Warm Brie topped with berry chutney alongside a whipped ricotta was divine on the buttered toast. The arugula and prosciutto was a nice accompaniment to the cheeses. Because we have no sense, we also had the soup/salad course. Don't do that. Although absolutely worth ordering, the French onion soup comes in a large crock and is topped with toasty bread and Gruyère. Worth getting if you didn't already share two appetizers and plan on dinner too. The burrata and persimmon salad was fresh and fruity, and also worth getting if you didn't already stuff yourself silly. Our entrees included the smoked thick cut pork chop over cauliflower purée with roasted garnet carrots, and the shrimp and grits with andouille and crab. Both dishes were prepared as requested/described, and could not have been more delicious. We would absolutely order both again. I should not neglect to mention the cocktails at Fat Calf's. The seasonal offering, Cider Does It, was a tequila concoction that smelled like all your favorite Christmas memories. It set the perfect tone for a great night out. Probably is responsible for our over ordering the rest of the night! We were too stuffed to enjoy dessert, but we ordered it anyway. The butterscotch pot du crème wasn't overly heavy, and was just enough for us to share so we did not have to say we chickened out and skipped dessert. To sum up, we drive in from San Antonio to Christmas with family every year, and our favorite place to eat, aside from Mom and Dad's place, is Fat Calf's.

Everything we had was delicious. My greatest regret is that I didn't dine at Fat Calf sooner during my travels to Shreveport. The ambiance, lighting, music, and service was wonderful and I've recommended this restaurant to numerous people since my visit. I didn't take a picture of the French onion soup, but trust me, it is worth ordering!

A Shreveport gem with exemplary food, service, and atmosphere. Every dish was high quality and artfully crafted. It was my first time having Gazpacho ($18) and it was a tart, multi-dimensional, silky delight. My friend said the NY Strip ($52 for 10 oz) was amongst the best steaks he had ever had. Burger ($18) looked incredible. And who knew Cauliflower ($18) could be so delicious? I loved our waitress, I wish we got her name. Classy, date night worthy ambience.

We came I'm for dinner and really enjoyed the ambiance, wonderful customer service and food. Our server was Walker. He was attentive, friendly and fun. We ordered the Brussel Sprouts, truffle fries , French onion soup, shrimp and gritts and braised. Definitely get the delicious Brussel Sprouts, truffle fries were not bad, the French onion was delicious but more on the sweet side, the shrimp and gritty were just okay and the braised ribs were very tender, flavorful and yummy. Over all great classy experience.

I came to Fat Calf before I even moved to Shreveport, and it was honestly a deciding factor in my decision to move here. I love this place! The food is seriously the best in town. I love the truffle fries and Brussel sprouts. And their French Onion Soup is to die for. They have a great menu. The service is always spectacular. I also like the fact that you can reserve a table or the bar area in advance on their website. They have a great patio area as well. Parking can be tight in the lot. But there are street option in the neighborhood. You have to check this place out!

Again fantastic experience start to finish. Had mussels fantastic but served with fries which just doesn't go. Stick to bread so we can soak the broth please. escargot. Was good. Had the pork schnitzel which I enjoyed. Ended with pecan custard tart which was good but too rich and sweet to eat by yourself. Drinks in the zone and can't recall other were great. Just they do all things great here and impressive to be consistent.
